Elizabeth Choy is a war heroine during world war two. She was born in 1910 and she passed away in 2006 at the age of 96. She came to Singapore in 1929 in search for her higher studies. She enrolled in the convent of holy Jesus and excelled in not only studies but in character as well. She soon became a teacher in St.Margaret's school and began to teach in St.Andrew's two years later. Elizabeth Choy married Mr Choy in 1941.Yhen the Japanese took over Singapore. Mr.Choy was detained for passing radio parts and money to internees at Changi prison. Mrs.Choy's valuables were confiscated and she had to live with 20 other prisoners in a dark cell for the next 193 days. She wa not only beaten up, but also electricuted in front of her husband! She must have suffered o lot of pain. I feel sorry for her.
